KAL Announcement: Spytacular, featuring Texas Dyed Wool
How on earth is next weekend August? I feel like I celebrated Christmas a month ago.
I think I say this every year as the summer starts to fade into fall (although I've not yet seen the signs of fall, here, I'm dying for them to make an appearance). The fall means pulling the hand knit socks back out of the drawer, wrapping myself up in cozy hand knits, and maybe, just maybe, getting the fireplace going. I think I need to move to a cooler climate... :)
So, in preparation for fall (or dreaming of fall, however you want to look at it), I'm hosting a KAL with Texas Dyed Wool. This shawl is perfect for end-of-summer knitting because its light weight not too complex. The pattern is easily memorized and can be knit in front of the TV, at the beach or the pool, or even at your favorite pub.
Spytacular
The KAL starts on Saturday, August 15th so you've got time to get your yarn from Texas Dyed Wool (she's hosting special half skeins so you can make a kit just for this KAL). It will run for 6 weeks in my Unapologetic Knitter Ravelry Group. And if you're on social media use #spytacularkal.

The pattern is written for two sizes - a two-skein project to highlight two contrasting yarn colors (finished size: 64 inches wide by 15.5 inches tall) or a single-skein project that will use al 400 yds of a single skein of fingering weight yarn (finished size: 55 inches wide by 15 inches tall).
Rachel, the lovely creator behind Texas Dyed Wool has come up with a collection of wonderful color combos specifically for this KAL which will be going live in her Etsy shop soon. She is offering the colors on her Twist Fingering base (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon) and it's oh-so-soft.
Once the KAL ends on September 26th there will be a chance to win prizes of pattern and yarn for those who finish.
